Dassault Aviation Delivers 2,500th Falcon Business Jet. Dassault Aviation has delivered the Falcon 2,500 business plane, 52 years after the first member of the twin-family and high-end tri-engines was introduced. The landmark model, a 900LX trijet, was delivered at the Dassault US termination center in Little Rock, Arkansas in late June to a long-time Falcon customer.
"With a generation of continuous improvements, the Falcons have remained the industry standard from the first Falcon 20 [introduced in 1965] to the new ultra-long 8X range triplex," says Dassault. The production line also includes the super-medium 2000LXS and the long reach 7X. The service entrance of the clean, ultra-wide blade 5X is planned for 2020, which will bring the Falcon portfolio to five models.
The president and chief executive of the company, Eric Trappier, says of the 2,500 Falcons delivered to date, more than 2,100 are flying. The fleet has accumulated nearly 18 million flight hours with about 1,230 operators in 90 countries, he adds.
